Fresh Raw Mangoes (Kachche Aam / Kairi) β€” Delivered Across the UK

Raw mangoes β€” known as Kachche Aam, Kairi, or Pacha Manga across South Asia β€” are firm, unripe mangoes celebrated for their intensely sour, tangy flavour that is utterly irreplaceable in Indian cooking. From cooling summer drinks to fiery pickles and tangy chutneys, raw mango is one of the most versatile and beloved ingredients in the South Asian kitchen.

At Curry Kart, our raw mangoes are carefully sourced for firm texture, vibrant green skin, and the sharp acidity that makes traditional recipes truly authentic.

Why You'll Love Them

  • Intensely tangy and sour β€” the defining flavour in dozens of classic recipes
  • Firm flesh that holds its shape in pickling, cooking, and preserving
  • Naturally rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and antioxidants
  • Aids digestion and is traditionally used to combat heat in summer
  • Versatile across Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, and Bangladeshi cuisines
  • Sourced fresh for peak tartness and quality

How to Use Raw Mangoes

  • Aam ka Achar (Mango Pickle) β€” the ultimate preserve; made with mustard oil, fenugreek, chilli, and whole spices
  • Aam Panna β€” a cooling, spiced raw mango drink with cumin and black salt β€” a summer essential
  • Raw Mango Chutney (Kairi ki Chutney) β€” blended with coriander, mint, garlic, and green chilli for a vibrant condiment
  • Kachche Aam ki Dal β€” toor or chana dal cooked with raw mango for a naturally sour, comforting curry
  • Raw Mango Rice (Mavinakaayi Chitranna) β€” South Indian grated raw mango rice with mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • Mango Salad / Kachumber β€” thinly sliced or grated with chilli, chaat masala, and fresh coriander
  • Curries & Gravies β€” added to fish curries, dals, and vegetable dishes as a souring agent in place of tamarind

How to Prepare

Wash thoroughly. Peel with a vegetable peeler or knife. Slice, grate, or cut into chunks depending on your recipe. The skin is edible but can be removed for a milder flavour in drinks and chutneys.

Storage Tips

Store at room temperature if using within 2–3 days, or refrigerate to extend freshness up to 7–8 days. Raw mangoes will slowly ripen at room temperature if you prefer a slightly less tart flavour.

Available in 500g portions. Order multiple quantities for pickling batches or preserving.
