Sometimes life doesn’t gently redirect you.

In November 2020, we moved to the UK with hope in our hearts and ambition in our minds. London became our first home. We rebuilt our lives from scratch — adapting, learning, surviving.

On paper, things were working.
Film projects were progressing.
Farah continued her work as a Waldorf Steiner teacher.
Life seemed steady.

But beneath the surface, doors began to close.
Projects stalled. Plans faded. Certainty slipped away.

There were nights we questioned everything.

Then came one question that changed it all:

Do we turn back — or move forward differently?

The Memory That Sparked Everything

That night, a childhood memory came rushing back.

An old kirana shop near my home.
A place I would visit after every big or small moment in life — a win, a loss, heartbreak, celebration.

I would sit quietly with chai and a samosa.
The scent of spices.
The sweetness of Indian mithai.
The comfort of stacked groceries around me.

It wasn’t just a shop.

It was belonging.
It was calm.
It was home.

And I realised — I missed that feeling.

So I asked:

Why can’t there be a store where you don’t just shop — you pause?
Where you explore, breathe, and feel connected?
Where there’s no pressure — only warmth?

That night, Curry Kart was born.

On 1st January, we opened our doors.

Built on Belief, Not Experience

No retail background.
No investors.
No blueprint.

Just belief.

We built shelves ourselves.
Searched tirelessly for trusted suppliers.

Learned through mistakes.
Worked late nights.
Adjusted. Improved. Grew.
